The Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA), Dr. Wale Okediran, today paid a courtesy visit to the Ghanaian Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, at her office in Accra.
Dr. Okediran expressed his appreciation to the Government of Ghana for the continued support and generous hosting of PAWA’s headquarters. He further called on the Ministry for increased collaboration and support towards the organization’s literary and cultural initiatives across the continent.
In her response, Hon. Gomashie—an accomplished actress, screenwriter, and producer, as well as a long-standing member of PAWA—commended the Association for its contributions to Africa’s literary landscape. She pledged the Ministry’s readiness to support PAWA in its mission to promote African literature and cultural heritage.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah; the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Joseph Kofi Amoah; and Directors of the Ministry including Dr. Alphonse Kumaza and Mr. Kofi Ohene Benning.
Dr. Okediran was accompanied by PAWA’s Accountant, Mr. Louis Mensah.
The visit underscored the strong partnership between PAWA and the Ghanaian government and reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing African arts and culture on the global stage.
