Accra, Ghana – July 21, 2025.
The Opening Ceremony of the Civil Service Policy Fair took place in Accra with a renewed call for professionalism, responsiveness, and citizen-centered service delivery within the public sector.
Speaking at the event, the Head of the Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, emphasized the importance of transformation within the service, stating that the Civil Service is strategically positioned to leverage platforms such as the Policy Fair to reaffirm its commitment to building a professional and responsive system that effectively serves the needs of all stakeholders.
Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh also highlighted the critical role of digitization and inter-agency collaboration in achieving this goal, drawing attention to key citizen-facing services such as National Health Insurance registration and renewal, as well as passport application and enquiries, which were on display at various exhibition stands.
Also present at the event was Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Director General of the National Sports Authority, who underscored the importance of institutional coordination in bridging service delivery gaps. He commended the fair for providing a platform for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to engage directly with the public and showcase their contributions to national development.
As part of the event, dignitaries including Mrs. Eunice Osae, Chief Director at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, Mr. Ampofo Ankrah, Director General for National Sports Authority, and other officials toured the various exhibition stands mounted by MDAs. The stands featured information on service innovations, policy interventions, and real-time service delivery tools available to the general public.
The Civil Service Policy Fair continues throughout the week, offering a unique opportunity for citizens to interact with public institutions, provide feedback, and learn more about government policies and programs that directly impact their lives.
