Accra, Ghana – August 4, 2025- The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has officially inaugurated the Governing Board of the Creative Arts Agency (CAA), in a ceremony held in Accra on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Gomashie applauded the newly appointed board members for accepting the call to national service and underscored the critical role they are expected to play in shaping the future of Ghana’s creative arts and tourism industry. She charged the board to uphold integrity, professionalism, and a deep sense of patriotism, emphasizing that the success and sustainability of the Agency rest largely on their leadership.
The Minister outlined the board’s core responsibilities, including aligning CAA’s activities with Ghana’s national development goals, ensuring good governance, and fostering strategic partnerships with stakeholders. She also expressed appreciation to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for assembling a diverse and competent team to guide the Agency.
The newly inaugurated board members are: Gideon Cyril Aryeequaye, William Akwetey Bonsu, Divine Owusu Ansah, Yaw Lorlorwu Sekyi, Brenda Abankwah, Divina Dornuki Nkwatabisa, Clement Amponfi Bonney, Akofa Edjeani, Leonora Buckman, Korkui Selormey, Latif Batalima Abubakar, and Benjamin Anabila.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Korkui , a member of the board expressed gratitude to the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in them. “It seems as though the entire creative arts sector is now in our hands and it’s up to us to cradle it, to carry it, and to move it forward,” she stated. Kokui Selormey noted the sector’s vast potential in addressing unemployment, attracting foreign direct investment, and contributing to national development. “It’s a multi-faceted sector, and I’m looking forward to what we can do in our own small way to really advance the agenda of this agency and by extension, our ministry,” she added.
The inauguration marks a renewed commitment to revitalizing Ghana’s Creative Arts industry and enhancing its role in socio-economic development.
