The Policy Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPBME) Directorate, on December 18 2025, organised a successful Stakeholder Consultation at the MEST Conference Room to discuss and finalise the Cabinet Memorandum on the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP). The engagement was chaired and moderated by the Acting Director of PPBME, Dr. Alphonse Kumaza.
The Cabinet Memorandum seeks policy approval for a Bill to establish the Park as a statutory national heritage authority, supported by a dedicated legal and institutional framework. The proposed Bill aims to strengthen governance and accountability, provide a sustainable funding mechanism for the Park’s long-term development and preservation, consolidate the Government’s recent investment in the Park’s modernisation, and fulfil the Government’s pledge to institutionalise heritage management in Ghana.
Among the participating MDAs and institutions were the Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice, the Cabinet Secretariat, the Department of Parks and Gardens, and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts. The custodian of the Cabinet Memo, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, was represented by the Acting Executive Director, Dr. Collins Nunyonameh.
