Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey on Wednesday, April 26th,2023 cut the sod for the construction of an ultra-modern open-air amphitheater at the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the venue, Mr. Okraku-Mantey reiterated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has the Creative Industry at heart saying, the amphitheater will act as a source of venue for performances and other forms of entertainment and also aid Industry players to plan for events.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that construction would create jobs to boost the Industry\u2019s economy.
\n\u201cIt will carry a maximum of 1,000 people, we can choose to do some side and side depending on the type of event we have,\u201d he indicated.<\/p>\n
He stated that, the project forms part of the New Patriotic Party\u2019s manifesto to build five (5) Amphitheatres across the country also assured Ghanaians the project will be done on time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis amphitheater is supposed to start any moment and by the end of July 2023, it should be ready. So far, as said in the NPP manifesto, five (5) Amphitheaters will be built this year; two (2) in Accra, one (1) in Kumasi, one (1) in Takoradi and one (1) in Tamale.<\/p>\n
He outlined some of the achievements in the sector which include the passage of the creative arts law, Creative Arts School, almost 70 percent complete and grant to support the sector during the Covid <\/p>\n
