The MoU aims to foster collaboration in areas such as cultural exchange, tourism development, as well as investment opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement reflects a mutual interest in leveraging tourism as a means of economic growth and cultural enrichment. Malta\u2019s tourism contributes significantly to its GDP and offers valuable insights and opportunities for Ghana. Through this partnership, both nations are expected to benefit from shared experiences, particularly in promoting sustainable tourism and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>This collaboration also aligns with broader initiatives to enhance Ghana&#8217;s tourism infrastructure, including the renovation of historical sites and the promotion of creative arts as key economic drivers.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU is part of Ghana&#8217;s strategy to position itself as a leading cultural and tourism destination in Africa, while also expanding its reach to Mediterranean countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Hon. Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey who signed on behalf of the Government of Ghana, at a brief ceremony at the Ghana High Commission at Valetta, Malta, was excited that the two countries are collaborating to learn from each other. He was optimistic that the friendship between Malta and Ghana would continue to grow.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Andrew Agius Muscat, Secretary General of the Mediterranean Tourism Foundation was thankful to the Ghanaian Government for the initiative and was hopeful that the ties will create opportunities for both countries to further develop their respective tourism and cultural sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The event took place in Malta as part of activities marking the 10<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Ghana High Commission in Malta. Present at the brief ceremony were Mrs. Barbara Akuokor Benisa, Ghana\u2019s High Commissioner to Malta, and Mr. Divine Kwame Owusu-Ansah, Ag.
