Accra, Ghana \u2013 July 15, 2025 \u2014 Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has reaffirmed Ghana\u2019s commitment to cultural diplomacy and global peace during a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Ali Ghomshi.
\nThe discussion touched on strengthening the Ghana tourism agenda under the new leadership, with Hon. Gomashie pledging her support for initiatives promoting sustainable tourism. She also revealed plans to visit Iraq following an invitation encouraged by Iraq\u2019s Foreign Minister, signaling Ghana\u2019s broader engagement with international partners.<\/p>\n
Addressing global tensions, Hon. Gomashie voiced concerns about rising aggression by powerful nations and its toll on vulnerable populations and extended condolences to affected civilians as she called for diplomacy over conflict
\nHon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie expressed enthusiasm about re-engaging at a policy level, including plans to renew a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focused on crafts and cultural heritage. She highlighted the growing significance of cultural tourism, stressing its power to attract visitors and foster cross-cultural understanding.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Ghomshi echoed Iran\u2019s commitment to cultural engagement, stating that despite regional conflicts, Iran remains dedicated to strengthening ties through education, literature, tourism, and diplomacy.
