Shai Hills – September 5, 2025 – National Service personnel for the 2024\u20132025 service year under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts have embarked on an educational tour of the Shai Hills Resource Reserve and the Adomi Bridge, two of Ghana\u2019s iconic tourist destinations.<\/p>\n
The tour, sponsored by the Ministry, was organized as part of the personnel\u2019s end-of-service activities and aimed at deepening their appreciation of Ghana\u2019s natural and cultural heritage while promoting tourism as a tool for national development.<\/p>\n
At the Shai Hills Resource Reserve, personnel were guided through the reserve\u2019s diverse ecosystem and cultural significance. Highlights included sightings of ostriches, zebras, antelopes, and monkeys, as well as a visit to Mogo Hill, a historic site once used by the Shai people for rites of passage. Tour guides emphasized the reserve\u2019s dual role in wildlife conservation and cultural preservation.<\/p>\n
The group later visited the Adomi Bridge, where they enjoyed scenic views of the Volta River and learned about the bridge\u2019s architectural importance. The stop also provided opportunities for photography and leisure.<\/p>\n
Expressing their appreciation, the National Service personnel extended heartfelt gratitude to the Hon. Minister, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, her Deputy, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, and the entire management team of the Ministry for making the experience possible.<\/p>\n
Officials from the Ministry noted that the tour aligns with ongoing efforts to use tourism as a vehicle for cultural identity, national pride, and socio-economic growth.<\/p>\n
Participants described the tour as both fun and educational, with many expressing a renewed sense of connection to Ghana\u2019s natural and historical landmarks.
