Accra, Ghana \u2013 November 3, 2025 \u2014 The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, on Monday paid a solemn visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra as part of his official working visit to Ghana. The visit was to honour the memory and enduring legacy of Ghana\u2019s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.<\/p>\n
President Steinmeier was accompanied by Ghana\u2019s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. The delegation was received at the park by the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, alongside the Director of Culture and Creative Arts, Mr. Devine Owusu Ansah, and the Executive Director of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Dr. Collins Rawlings Nunyoname.<\/p>\n
During the brief ceremony, President Steinmeier laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Dr. Nkrumah as a mark of respect and recognition of his pivotal role in Ghana\u2019s independence and the Pan-African movement. He also signed the visitors\u2019 book to commemorate the occasion.
\nThe Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, one of Ghana\u2019s most significant heritage and tourist sites, continues to attract dignitaries and visitors from across the world who visit to pay tribute to the nation\u2019s founding father and his contributions to Africa\u2019s liberation.<\/p>\n
President Steinmeier\u2019s visits forms part of broader bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening relations between Ghana and Germany and exploring new areas of cooperation and partnership between the two nations.
