{"id":7015,"date":"2026-01-14T16:00:20","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T16:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.motcca.gov.gh\/?p=7015"},"modified":"2026-01-14T19:47:30","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T19:47:30","slug":"diaspora-collaboration-boosts-cultural-tourism-agenda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.motcca.gov.gh\/motcca\/diaspora-collaboration-boosts-cultural-tourism-agenda\/","title":{"rendered":"Diaspora Collaboration Boosts Cultural Tourism Agenda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Accra, Ghana &#8211; January 14, 2026 &#8211; The \u201cAdinkra Group\u201d, a registered tourism company in Ghana, on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, hosted 500 members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority group at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park as part of activities marking the 118th Founders Day of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.<\/p>\n<p>The group was led by the President and Chief Executive Officer of the \u201cAdinkra Group\u201d in Ghana, Mr. Diallo Sumbry, who said the visit formed part of efforts to strengthen cultural reconnection between Ghana and the African diaspora, particularly African Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Sumbry explained that the visit followed earlier engagements with the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, and was aimed at renewing collaboration with the Ministry and its Agencies to promote diaspora tourism.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have been working with government for some years, and with this new government, we are looking forward to a renewed collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, and all its agencies to help bring more African Americans to Ghana,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the group from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, founded in 1908, chose Ghana as the destination town to commemorate their Founders Day, reflecting their desire to reconnect with their African heritage.<\/p>\n<p>As part of their activities during their stay, the group toured the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where they engaged with local vendors, explored the historic site and participated in cultural experiences.
