Accra, June 13, 2025 — The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie (M.P), on Friday held a strategic meeting with representatives of the Akuna Group at her office to explore potential collaborations in Ghana’s tourism and creative arts sectors.
The engagement focused on aligning the Akuna Group’s proposed initiatives with the Ministry’s broader objectives of revitalizing the cultural and creative landscape and promoting sustainable tourism.
Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Gomashie reaffirmed government’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for private investment and innovation. She underscored the vital role of partnerships in preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage and achieving national tourism goals.
Speaking on behalf of the Akuna Group, Ms. Efua Amoah expressed appreciation for the opportunity and reiterated the Group’s dedication to supporting the growth of Ghana’s tourism industry. She revealed the Group’s intention to invest in the film industry, including plans to develop a film village near Christiansburg Castle in Osu, and support capacity-building initiatives within the creative sector.
Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie commended the Akuna Group’s proactive approach and expressed confidence in the potential impact of such collaborations on national development. She encouraged continued dialogue and innovation in expanding Ghana’s creative economy.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Joseph K. Amoah, Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Geoffrey Tamakloe, Director of Tourism, and Mr. Divine K. Owusu-Ansah, Director of Culture and Creative Arts.
