Accra, Ghana – 5th August,2025- The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has met with key players in the tourism and creative arts sector who were affected by the recent fire outbreak at the Accra Tourist Information Centre.
The meeting, held earlier today, served as a platform for the Minister to hear firsthand the concerns and challenges faced by the affected stakeholders. Hon. Gomashie expressed her deep sympathy over the incident and reassured the sector players of the Ministry’s commitment to supporting them through this difficult time.
“I understand the magnitude of this setback and assure you that we are working closely with directors of the Ministry to secure a temporary workspace for you as we work toward long-term solutions,” the Minister stated.
In addition to addressing immediate concerns, the Minister also acknowledged broader infrastructural challenges, including accommodation limitations within her own office. She called for unity and collaboration, emphasizing the need for collective dialogue to identify sustainable and permanent solutions.
During the engagement, stakeholders proposed the establishment of a one-stop facility that would accommodate all players in the sector. According to them, such a move would help consolidate efforts, foster collaboration, and enhance the overall stability and appeal of Ghana’s tourism and creative arts industry.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment between the Ministry and stakeholders to maintain open communication and work together toward revitalizing the sector and preventing future disruptions like the fire disaster that occurred.
