9th September, 2025 -Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie has reaffirmed the country’s position as a champion of heritage and cultural tourism, highlighting its rich African story and history.
Speaking at the UN Tourism 26th General Assembly, The Minister emphasized Ghana’s commitment to reconnecting the global African family with their ancestral roots through initiatives such as the Pan African festival and Emancipation, the Year of Return, and now the Black Star Experience.
Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie also mentioned the recently held Afro-Gastro festival that sought to reunite countries of African descents to celebrate their shared culture and values through African gastronomy that binds them. A festival that saw the participation of the African Union Development Agency and 14 diplomatic missions , showcasing Ghana’s vibrant culture and heritage.
The Hon. Minister also used the opportunity to extend a warm invitation to delegates for the December in Gh celebrations, saying, “Ghana stands as a beacon of unity, identity, and peaceful coexistence, using tourism as a powerful bridge to celebrate our shared heritage and inspire a collective future. We welcome you all to December in Ghana.”
The Minister’s statement on the floor of the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly first Plenary, underscores Ghana’s dedication to promoting cultural and heritage tourism and strengthening global ties, solidifying the country’s position as a premier destination.
