Accra,Ghana – 9th December, 2025 – The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has held an orientation session for newly posted National Service Personnel, introducing them to the Ministry’s mandate, operations and expectations for the year ahead.
Representing the Chief Director of the Ministry, the Director for Human Resource Management, Mr. Otto Langmagne, urged the personnel to uphold discipline, professionalism and respect in the workplace. He explained that Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, operates through seven directorates and 13 agencies, and deployments are based on the qualifications of personnel and the needs of each unit.
Mr. Langmagne encouraged the new personnel to embrace their assignments as part of a unified effort to promote tourism, culture and the creative arts. He cautioned against comparing postings or seeking transfers for convenience, stressing that every placement contributes to the Ministry’s broader mandate. He also reiterated the importance of punctuality, appropriate dressing, civil service conduct and building positive working relationships.
Deputy Director of Research, Statistics and Information Management , Mr. Andy William Amoo, during a presentation briefed the personnel on his directorate’s role in supporting evidence-based decision-making. He highlighted the unit’s work in generating accurate and reliable data, managing the Ministry’s information systems, conducting research and coordinating the production of statistical reports.
Mr. Amoo encouraged the personnel to engage actively with the Ministry’s digital platforms, where key updates and announcements are shared, and urged them to bring innovative ideas to support the Ministry’s growth.
The speakers reiterated that National Service is not merely a support role but a meaningful opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to national development. The session was attended by Directors of the Ministry, Representatives from the various directorates and senior staff, all of whom expressed their commitment to guiding and supporting the new personnel throughout their service year.
